Trace Products from the Amazon to your Doorstep [Video]

Deforestation encroaching on supply chains in the xingu river basin (brazil)

This week a consortium of Brazilian brands and nonprofits launched Origens Brasil, a groundbreaking advance in supply chain transparency. Every product in the supply chain is tracked from the point of sale, through manufacturing, all the way to retail. Why? It's the only way to ensure that the producers receive a fair wage - and that production takes place in protected environments, where it does not contribute to deforestation. Field agents are equipped with smartphones to capture information about each transaction, and the results are uploaded to Sourcemap in real time for analysis and traceability. Powerhouse ad agency Loducca designed the consumer-facing website. Watch the video below to learn more, or simply visit http://origensbrasil.org.br/ and enter item code '5020' to see a sample trace.
