Interview with Beatrice Moulianitaki, Head of Sustainable Sourcing, The Hershey Company [Customer Testimonial]

How are you using Sourcemap?

Sourcemap is helping us meet our no new deforestation commitment through supply chain mapping, identifying farm locations in areas at risk and monitoring deforestation via satellite.

 What have you found?

Our deforestation analysis revealed that the number of farms in locations at risk, and our overall contribution to deforestation, are both in the low single-digit percentages - below the margin of error in most cases.

What are your plans for the future?

By 2025, 100% of our sourcing in the Ivory Coast and Ghana will be directly sourced. In addition, 100% of our farmers’ plots will be mapped and they will be part of a Child Labor Monitoring & Remediation system.

What do you like best about using Sourcemap?

We believe in using data to back up our sustainability efforts and make data driven decisions. Sourcemap provides data we can trust to make sure our programs are delivering the impact we want and contributes to our assurance model.

 What makes Sourcemap different?

Sourcemap brings more than a decade of experience in sustainable cocoa supply chains, which gives us peace of mind that we are adopting best practices when it comes to data and reporting.
