EU Commission to Launch EUDR Legality Repository

In its May 4th EUDR report, the EU Commission announced that it will be launching a repository by which economic operators subject to EUDR can look up relevant legislation for the country of production for their commodities or derived products.

Notably, the repository will not be updated by the Commission itself. Instead, the countries of production in which EUDR commodities are produced will be responsible for uploading information pertaining to relevant legislation to aid operators in compliance with legality due diligence obligations. The Commission will provide templates outlining the specific information required for the repository to ensure EUDR relevance and consistence with the legal text.

When will the repository be available?

The Commission plans to launch the repository before the December 30th EUDR deadline. Third countries and relevant stakeholders will soon be invited to share relevant information to ensure that the repositories will be complete.
