Suppliers of EUDR products do not need to integrate with any API
Complying with the EU Deforestation Regulation is hard: collecting geo-data, performing satellite deforestation analysis, sending digital reports to customers and to the EU. Some companies are asking suppliers to create custom integrations with proprietary third-party software platforms. The good news is that you don't need any custom API integrations to comply with the EUDR.
Why?
EUDR data is the same for everyone: the EU has published clear specifications for what data is required in a Due Diligence Statement, and it's the same for every company, every raw material, and every shipment. So long as you collect the data required by the EU, you can do it in any format that works for your company.
API-Free Integrations are the Norm
Even if you want to automate a connection to your customers’ databases, you should never create a custom integration with some third party API. That's because today's middleware solutions can accept any format of data, whether it's a spreadsheet, an email with a PDF attachment, messages sent via EDI - any modern EUDR solution provider should be able to accept these formats and more, in any data format that suits your business.
Questions?
EUDR vendors are proposing custom API integrations that don't make sense for most suppliers. Find the vendor that works with you to integrate your data in the format you already use.
