The Netherlands' Centre for the Promotion of Imports (CBI) recommends Sourcemap by name as a digital solution for cocoa supply chain compliance with EU regulations.
The CBI — the Dutch government agency that helps exporters in developing countries access European markets — published a market trend report on the European cocoa sector recommending that cocoa exporters digitize their supply chain records and map farms with GPS to meet EU regulatory requirements. Among a short list of recommended platforms, the report explicitly names Sourcemap as a tool to manage this transition. The report, updated in February 2026, addresses the wave of mandatory EU sustainability regulations reshaping the cocoa trade — including the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) — and emphasizes that digital traceability is no longer optional for exporters seeking to maintain access to European buyers.
